The 2018 NASW National Conference “Shaping Tomorrow Together” will have a virtual component that takes place in “real time” live via the Internet. Registered participants will be able to access and attend the conference from a computer or mobile device with Internet access (see Technical Requirements).

Do I have to be a social worker to attend the 2018 NASW Virtual Conference?
No, in addition to social workers, we encourage other health and human services professionals to attend the conference
Where will the Virtual Conference take place?
The conference will take place online in “real time,” live through the Internet at the same time the NASW National Conference is happening live in Washington, D.C.
What are the dates and times of the Virtual Conference?
The virtual conference will take place June 21-23, 2018.
Who will participate?
Social Workers and other health and human services professionals.
Will I receive written confirmation of my registration?
Yes. Registrants will receive an email confirmation shortly after submitting their registration.
What types of sessions are included?
The conference will include plenary and concurrent sessions.
How do I receive my CE credit?
If you view a program live and in its entirety, you are entitled to receive CE credit and your certificate will indicate that CE was live. After the program is complete, return to the program page within the Virtual Conference platform and access the Certificate Component. You may view all of your registered programs in your Dashboard and, from your dashboard, you may re-enter any completed program to claim your certificate.
Are there pre-conference activities?
There will not be pre-conference activities. However, registrants are encouraged to log in and become familiar with the site, its features and meet and network with participants across the country.

Yes. Please see the Registration page.
What if I cannot attend all of the live conference events? Will I be able to view the presentation(s) at another time?
Yes. All sessions will be recorded and available on-demand. Please be aware that to complete on-demand sessions you will have to pass a post-test; also, be aware that some state licensing boards regulate “live” and “On-demand” CEs differently.
How do I log in to the virtual conference?
Fifteen minutes before the start time, registrants can log in with the same username and password you used for registration. Click on the “Dashboard” link in the menu at the top of the page, then click on the title of the session that you would like to view.
Will handouts be provided?
Plenary and breakout session PowerPoint slides, handouts, and any other presentation materials will be posted and available for participants to download and print from the conference website when available. These materials will also be available for three months following the conference.
How far ahead of time should we log in to a session?
All conference sessions will begin on time. We recommend that you log in, visit the conference website and become familiar with its features prior to the conference. At the beginning of each day, we recommend that you log in 10-15 minutes prior to the start time to double check your connection and sound.
Can I participate if I live outside of the United States?
You bet you can! For no additional cost, you can participate in the Virtual Conference as long as you have Internet access the meets the Technical Requirements.
Is special equipment required?
All you need to participate is a computer and Internet connection. Please take the following browser test in advance of the virtual conference to make sure you are able to access the sessions: http://events.commpartners.com/webcasts/browsertest/. Be sure the audio is set to the volume you desire, as you will receive sound through your computer speakers.
How can I ask questions and chat with other participants?
Each conference session will offer a live “chat” feature while the session is being presented. This is a great way to ask questions and share ideas with other participants before and during the live sessions.

It is recommended that you use a PC or MAC with an updated Internet Browser.
Make sure you have pop-ups blockers disabled in your Internet browser settings.
Make sure that your internet browser is Active X enabled.
Wifi is not recommended. The problem with WiFi is signal strength can vary causing bandwidth to increase or decrease.
We recommend a wired connection. A wired connection gives a consistent signal and consistent bandwidth. A wired connection provides a better experience.
Audio (sound) is projected through your computer speakers. Be sure your computer is equipped with speakers or the room where the conference is being broadcast is equipped with speakers so you can hear the presenters.
